ASCII/edit is an editor for Tables, diagrams, or simple graphics made of ASCII characters in a fixed-width font. It lets you arrange text on a page, as with a layout software; align and indent paragraphs, like in a word processor; and add lines or rectangles, as in a drawing application. The output, however, is pure ASCII text, which you can include in e-mails, newsgroups, or technical documentation. ASCII/edit is also extremely useful for software developers, who can use it to Create explaining sketches to include in source code files.
